Nov. 2009: Organizing and funding a second five-day advanced training workshop on teaching children with autism, to be held at the Stars and Rain Education Institute for Autism near Beijing, for teachers from across China. |

2009: Sponsored two teachers from the Stars and Rain Institute to come to Vancouver to receive three weeks advanced training at the GABA Program, under the direction of Dr. Suzanne Jacobsen, a leading Canadian specialist in autism. |

2008: Organized and funded four days of advanced training in educating children with autism by Dr. Suzanne Jacobsen at Stars and Rain Education Institute for Autism. 62 teachers of children with autism from provinces across China attended. Current SCLCFC Director, Hugo Chan, provided a fifth day of education to both teachers and parents of children with autism, on “Positive Behaviour Support.” |

2006-07: On the basis of visits and investigation by Board members, identified the Stars and Rain Institute in Beijing, a unique centre for training children with autism and their families, as a target for assistance and fund-raising. Subsequently provided funds to hire an assistant director to free up the director for strategic and long-range planning, and to acquire a reliable used van for transportation and fund-raising. |

2005: Established a 3-year senior high school scholarship programme to allow more financially-needy students in poor areas of China to attend high school. Supported 90 students in the first year of the programme. This program expanded to fund over 200 students by 2007. |

2000: Funded the rebuilding of a school in Luan Ping County, He Bei Province to the northeast of Beijing, China, for 400 students, Grades One through Nine. |
